Summer Season Format

Main Season

  • Teams earn Championship Points each week!
  • Team are split into groups, winning moves you up a group and losing moves you down a group. Your final group each week determines how many points you earn.
  • The teams with the most Championship Points at qualify for the post-season.

Playoffs

  • The three teams with the most Championship Points automatically qualify for the Grand Finals, the next teams with the most points compete in the Wildcard Tournament for the fourth Grand Finals spot.

Tournament Format

Summer Season Format
  • Teams are split into groups based on the performance in Qualification tournament/previous weeks.
  • There are 3 games each Sunday, winning moves you up a group and losing moves you down. Teams earn Championship points depending on which group they finish in every week.
  • The teams with the most Championship Points at the end of the season qualify for the post-season.

Wildcard Format

Teams have two routes to qualify for the Summer Finals:

Automatic qualification

The top 3 teams with the most championship points qualify for the semi-finals, out of those teams the 1st placed team will get the choice of which team to play in the semis.

Wildcard Tournament (Sunday 30th August)

The 10 teams placed 4th to 13th on championship points will compete for the final slot in the Semi-Finals. They’ll play in a single elimination tournament where the teams who placed higher in the main season will get bye’s in the earlier rounds, bye’s will be awarded as follows:

Rules

League of Legends Summer Tournament Rules

  • There will be a check-in system released during the tournament, you must check you team in on Sunday before 5:30pm. If a team does not check in by 5.30pm they will not be seeded into that evenings fixtures.
  • Captains must be the player representing the team on tournament night. Results must be submitted by both captains via the companion before starting their next game. Failure of either of these may result in penalties.
  • We expect teams to remain sporting at all times, In the event of any flame or other poor sportsmanship please take screenshots and submit to admins.
  • Teams are expected to arrive promptly to all games. If a team does not have all 5 players ready to play 20mins after the scheduled start time they will forfeit the game, (or 20 mins after both teams have finished the previous round match).
  • Rosters will be locked after the check-in deadline. After roster lock, teams can make one emergency sub, which must be done 1 hour prior to any matches they wish to take part in.
  • If you are unsure of any rules contact an admin.

If my team doesn't enter the qualification tournament can we still enter the rest of the Summer Tournament?
Yes, teams may enter mid summer tournament however if you will join in regional league and have to be promoted to nationals.

Do I have to play every week?
Individuals do not have to play each week as teams may have to 7 players on their roster and can make changes to that roster at various points. If Teams do not turn up to their games, they will be counted as losses and not be included in the Play-offs.

Am I good enough to enter the NUEL?
Yes, we encourage player of all skill levels to join a team and get involved. We always attempt to match teams with similarly skilled teams in order to ensure competitive matches for all players throughout the season.

Can I swap teams mid season?
Yes, throughout the season there will be various chances to change teams provided you are playing with players from the same university.
